This month at deFrost* Domenic Alvaro, Principal at global architecture firm Woods Bagot, will be talking in depth about creating uniqueness of architectural experience in each project and the importance of architecture in its particular place.
Domenic leads the Sydney studio of Woods Bagot as a Principal, leading the design and realization of many varying scale and diverse projects. In his talk, Domenic will discuss his inspiration and influences, and present the thinking and collaborative process behind selected projects. These include the ivy Sydney, recipient of the Harry Seidler Award for Commercial Architecture and the prestigious Lloyd Reece Medal for Outstanding Urban Design. Small House, a prototypical home on 42m2 site in Sydney’s inner city suburb of Surry Hills, was awarded both the state and national architecture prize for residential architecture and “World House of the Year” in 2011 at the World Architecture Festival in Barcelona.
