Repositioning this 70-year old architectural establishment meant reframing a well-used brand through the lens of its inherent dynamism and vision. Our strategic insights shed light on the brand’s agility, economy and ambition to create a thoughtful and award winning brand identity.

Our brand strategy made a conscious shift from a corporate mindset to one of innovation. The core idea of ‘Connecting through Design’ encompassed the relationship between ideas and solutions, past and future, and people to their environments. This furnishes the team’s belief in the power of architecture with form, and invites an exciting, design focused culture.

THOUGHTFUL CREATIVE THAT TELLS ITS STORY CONFIDENTLY

Brewster Murray’s brand attributes, built over its 70-history, have been carefully considered. The multi-purpose character aims to demonstrate the intelligent resourcefulness underpinning Brewster Murray's work, simply and efficiently. A restrained three-colour palette and just two weights of a single typeface – Helvetica Neue – reinforce the efficiencies built into the brand logo. The name as a wordmark pays respect to a firm that has built its success since 1946.

AWARDS AND APPLAUSE

The new brand conveys design and connection, and profiles Brewster Murray as a practice that delivers things differently. Proactive, contemporary and willing to evolve with the market, we took Brewster Murray to its future without losing its past. The design was awarded a 2017 Tokyo Type award, featured in the annual book and was winner of the 2017 Communication Arts Typography, Award of Excellence.
