Re:union FITNESS

We’ve launched a daring and rebellious new brand in the health and fitness space, designed from the inside out to evolve the group-training model into a more holistic and performance driven experience.

This ain’t your common, garden variety gym. The RE:UNION program is designed to re-shape how people understand fitness, where members work-out together in teams of three, and are matched-up based on skill and ambition using technology to track and focus activities in real time.

This electric new concept is the brainchild of the ex-founder of cult global fitness franchise F45 and celebrity personal trainer guru, Luke Istomin. Luke’s vision is simple: achieve the results of a personal trainer without the price tag through community and technology.

“Reunion’s sole purpose is to create a stronger, happier and healthier version of you,” says Luke. “Whether you’re 17 or 87, we will make every team member kick-ass in life with the help of our well-rounded training methods and approach to nutrition.”

As a key partner in the project, Vince Frost was immediately drawn to the idea thanks to a shared philosophy in helping people set goals and then achieve them. Vince says, “This is an idea we really believe in and want to back. It’s about doing good and it aligns to one of our key values—entrepreneurialism—so it’s a win win. It’s also about putting our money where our mouth is. Our ideas and creativity have far more value than what we are traditionally remunerated for, so being part owner in return for creative input feels right.”

TEAMWORK IS A CORE STRENGTH

How many times have you gone to the gym and felt kind of awkward? Maybe you avoided the weights because you were worried about what the huge muscle, tank-top dude would think of you rocking those tiny 15Ib kettlebells. Maybe you skipped that spin-class because you thought that twenty-something on the front-row bike would throw you some shade. Or it might have just been because you’ve been working out for 6 damn months now, and can’t see any progress!

Whatever the case, going to gym can often be a lonely, uncomfortable experience. RE:UNION is rethinking the rigid formats and traditions of the classic gym environment by designing the ultimate group training experience.

Gone are the days where you put off going to the gym because you’re intimidated by other members, or even lose interest all together because you don’t know how to track your progress and can’t afford those exxy sessions with a PT. RE:UNION custom-designs your workout to meet new friends and achieve fitness milestones with people at your level in a completely digital results-driven environment – all minus those mega membership fees.

From this, we distilled Luke’s idea into one succinct brand capture: “Fit for Purpose”. Our thinking is that the future of fitness is about far more than muscles and abs. It’s a holistic approach that satisfies our inherent  emotional, mental, social and physical need for wellbeing. Here, RE:UNION is fit for your purpose – whatever that might be; moving better, feeling stronger, living longer, knowing better, thinking clearer, glowing brighter, connecting faster, sleeping deeper…and so on. RE:UNION takes that purpose and pairs you with like-minded people of a similar circumstance to work toward your goals together; sharing your milestones, setbacks and everything in between; resetting your gym experience to be less lonely and more results-driven.

“Going to the gym can be an intimidating and solitary experience, which is why Luke’s idea of creating a place where people feel at home and part of the family was refreshing and exciting. It’s not just about the individual anymore, but about helping each other out, progressing together, making it a fun and convivial experience.”

put your money where your mouth is

The latest numbers from the Global Wellness Institute’s 2017 independent study show that the wellness market (including beauty and anti-aging, wellness tourism and spa, wellness lifestyle and real estate, alternative/preventative medicine, fitness, mind and body, and workplace wellness) is a whopping $3.7 Trillion market; a +10.6% growth from their 2015-2016 study of the same sectors. In particular, you might be interested to know that of those groupings, the ‘fitness, mind and body’ category takes up $542 Billion – the second largest sector and the fastest growing by far with a mega +6.4% jump up from the previous year’s study.

For us however, the growth comes as no surprise. Vince Frost notes: “We are passionately aware of the fact that everything we design; physical spaces, digital environments, branding communications and packaging; can impact the wellness of people and our world.”

RE:UNION is a brand that, like us, is squarely behind this mission, and is therefore thoroughly designed from the inside out to reflect the rapidly growing global push toward being well. Together with Luke and the RE:UNION team, we have been able to think globally, and act locally with a holistic response to wellness – whatever that might mean to you.
